True grit, not much of that about.  The roads are

covered in ice, and the pavements in the towns are

covered with ice.  Seems that it must not be a profitable

pursue to grit pavements or roads anywhere.

There are some folks who have never been out of

their houses for nearly two weeks, fearful of falling

and the dreaded broken hip.  Then there is the cold

and the fear of using too much fuel and the cost.

It seems that the carol ‘Good King Wenslas’

(forgive the spelling please), is very apt.
